Join Kat Starr for a 60-minute breathing workshop that will leave you relaxed and empowered.

Kat Starr will lead you through a half dozen varieties breathing techniques, and teach you how each of them can be used in your day to day life - and your music!

Join Kat as you explore different modalities for using the breath. You will come away with:

  • An understanding of how our brains and bodies communicate through the breath

  • Tools to help you relax in a noticeable way

  • Knowledge of what to look for when you practice on your own!

Let’s Breathe

Over the last 15 years, Head Teacher Kat Starr has made a study of the way our bodies move best when we play music.

Over and over, she noticed how students would brace and hold their breath when they’re playing music. And that bracing created tension that rippled out into the students’ experience as well as playing!

FAQs

  • This workshop is appropriate for ages 14 and up!

  • Dress in loose, comfy clothing with layers in case you heat up or cool down!

    • A yoga mat (or two for extra comfort)

    • Blanket or towel

    • Water bottle
